It's about intergenerational space travel, but really, it's about the women in my family.

There's something pretty beautiful about getting to make a piece for a show that has influenced me for so long - and having that piece come from looking inward rather than outward. Instead of my usual - some enormous story happening somewhere else. This was just ... Just me getting closer to my own family and listening more deeply.

I got to work with some of my favorite people on this one: Emmanuel Dzotsi, (@newsmanual_ ) an incredible producer; Emanuele Berry, the Executive Editor of This American Life, who has fiercely believed in my work; and b.a. Parker, whose work on Code Switch (@nprcodeswitch) I've admired for years, who gave this piece such a beautiful edit.
